Marriage
Heritage of KY is working to develop the following Marriage program that has been held up as a model program by Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families and successful in the Heritage Community Services office in South Carolina. Welcome to the Heritage Keepers Healthy Marriage Initiative. The initiative exists to help couples - who have chosen marriage for themselves - gain greater access to marriage education services where they can acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to form and sustain a healthy marriage. Heritage Keepers Healthy Marriage Initiative has four major components:
- Marriage Mentor Meetings are hosted each month. Couples in long term, healthy marriages are trained to be Marriage Mentor Couples for couples considering marriage or already married.
- Pregnancy Care Clinic activities focus on crisis pregnancy centers to help them provide marriage education services to their clients.
- African-American and Hispanic activities will promote and strengthen healthy marriages within their respective communities by addressing their unique cultural, linguistic, demographic and socio-economic needs.
- Community activities focus on training and technical assistance for faith and community-based organizations, and other agencies interested in strengthening their capacity to provide family formation and marriage education services.
