PROBLEM

Adolescents are engaging in sexual activity outside of marriage.

1. They are insufficiently aware of the benefits of abstinence and the risks of sexual activity outside of marriage.
2. They are insufficiently convinced of the compelling need to practice abstinence from sexual activity outside of marriage.
3. Adolescents are insufficiently equipped to practice abstinence from sexual activity outside of marriage.

GOALS

Adolescents who have participated in the 450-minute Abstinence Education course will abstain from sexual activity outside of marriage.

1. Academic Goal—Participants will be able to identify sexual activity outside of marriage as a risky behavior.
2. Affective Goal—Participants will develop a positive attitude toward abstinence from sexual activity outside of marriage.
3. Behavioral Goal—Participants will be more likely to abstain from sexual activity outside of marriage, thereby realizing the associated benefits.
